I visited with my daughter, and we enjoyed our large room with king beds on the first floor. It was spacious and very clean. We did not spend much time there, just to sleep. We did not have breakfast there as we met at family's in Lindau.

The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. In the bathroom everything worked without issues. The room was looking towards the central station but was very quiet. They also have lockers to leave your luggage for free after check-out if you would like to hang around more in the city (the lockers are not very big but still you can leave a big suitcase near them). The location is just 50 m from the port and the main walking area.

Lindau Island is relatively small & easily covered in a day (maybe 2 at a push). We would have liked to have used the ferries more & visit more places on the lake, however, some of the ferry journey times are quite long for a day trip. That said we really enjoyed our stay at Lindau & very glad we visited.

Lindau is a pretty town but get there early.
Lindau is a pretty town but get there early. We arrived at 11am and all the car parks were already full so we used the bus.
The harbour is the main attraction and you can get boats here to other places on Bodensee and if you don´t want to do that walking around the town is very easy and there are loads of nice shops and places to eat that aren´t as busy as those at the harbour.
8km / 10 minutes drive, from Lindau is mount Pfänder.
The cable car runs every 30 minutes from 8 am to 7pm and every 15 minutes if it´s busy. It costs 15 euro return for adults and 7,50 children.
Present you parking ticket at one of the Pfändebahn ticket offices and Pfönderbahn guests who park in the Pfäderbahn parking spaces at the valley station P6 or in the parking garage on Schillerstrasse P15 will receive 3 hours parking for free.

The town is old and very beautiful.
The town is old and very beautiful. It has a lovely atmosphere and it's great to wander around, with many outdoor cafes and interesting shops and historic buildings and churches. There are great views across the lake and it's easy to book a boat ride. There is a good local train service around the lake too, and travel to many places is included in a guest card if you stay overnight on the island.

Best place if you want wind down and have a quite time.
Best place if you want wind down and have a quite time. I loved it as a honeymoon spot. Not a lot of people and you can just relax and enjoy sightseeing in peace. But also the town has a lot of history - you can visit the old buildings and many churches there.

Very quaint Bavarian toursit destination.
Very quaint Bavarian toursit destination. The propoery is a 25 minute walk to the Lindau Inslet. Very photgeneic but unless you are inclined to do a boat/ferry trip not much to do besides beach and lunch.
If you go, plan on renting a car, so that you can explore the area around Lindau, otherwise you won't have enough to do. There's a tram 25 bicycling minutes away in Austria, And we rented a car to drive to Innsbruck, Austria,
There was also a very nice campground about 25 cycling minutes from the Inslet. Excellent accommodations there.

Ease of access is incredible thanks to plane and train via Zurich. Possibly via Munich will be also as good.
This is a Hansel & Gretel small town, beautifully preserved and virtually fully pedestrianised.
Peaceful, pretty, quiet and a perfect example of 'rail, boat, cafe' integration with everything working in harmony.
A beautiful small hotel in the middle of the Insel in one of the historic streets. Check in was easy and the room was delightful, large and looked out over the houses. It was on the 3rd floor and there is no lift but this wasn't a problem for us. The bathroom was quite small but totally adequate. The hotel was incredibly clean and very well looked after and cared for. Our bikes were stored in a secure room which was easily accessed from the street. The breakfast was wonderful with a great choice of buffet.
Very good location ; very near to walk everywhere in Lindau.
There is a big car park building on the street besides the lake you can leave your car ( safe and cost is not too much) and then you must walk a few min for upper narrow street.
The hotel is just besides the church and behind the Museum (was under renovation).
The breaksaft is fair enough.
For our late arrival , they put our key in a safe box in enterence & they called and informed for password , was good service.
The location is extremely central, on a small street sandwiched between the harbor and the main shopping street. The hotel itself is quite quirky in a very fun and interesting way. The shared shower is not exactly convenient, but I appreciated the cleverness of the design and it was actually one of the best showers I have had on my trip. The rooms have a sink, which is very practical. The bike room was also very well done and very useful.
Parking was easy. Super clean, modern, beautiful design. The beds were comfortable. Got good sleep thanks to the rolladens. The wifi was fast and reliable. Staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Took a singular bus line into Lindau Island which was convenient and easy as the bus stop is right outside the hotel. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in in Europe, and I've been to about 50 now.
The hotel is very centrally located right opposite the Lindau Insel train station. The Lindau Kunstmuseum is located within walking distance of the hotel as are many restaurants and shops. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my breakfast at the restaurant with a beautiful view of Lake Constance/Bodensee. Although the hotel is located right in the heart of the city, I was able to enjoy a good night's rest. The
What a lovely family run hotel. Everyone there could not have been more helpful. We were given a big bottle of spakling water on arrival, delightful after a long cycle. The double room was a good size, spotless, and very comfortable. We had dinner, which was tasty and beautifully presented. Having the menu in English, as well as Germany, was a bonus. The buffet breakfast was exceptional.
Very close to the lake (just a short walk through the vineyard), kiosk etc. and a 10 min drive into Lindau old town. Apartments are well equipped and comfortable and most importantly super clean. A little fridge by the entrance is stocked with wine and other locally made goods can be purchased self-service style. Playground on site as well. Really fantastic for a family holiday!
Breakfast is amazing! Also, thanks for the late check-in possibility and nice staff. There were mosquitoes in the room, so we asked for the room change and the hotel owner lady helped us and changed the room for another, so no complaints. I think this is good value for money in Lindau. Also, the location is good and it was quiet during our stay.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was confortable and clean. The location was perfect as you are right in the middle of the island few minutes away from the arbour. The breakfast was also really good. I have been in Lindau a few times, stayed in different hotels and I highly recommend the Insel Hotel.
We had a very comfortable room at the back of the hotel. It was a good size with a well appointed bathroom. The staff were very welcoming. It's very close to the lake and a short walk to LIndau. The trains run from the island. Highly recommend is the restaurant Villa Alwin am see along the lake.
Small room but well equipped and fine for a single traveller. My room was at the back, away from any traffic noise. I could walk from Lindau Insel station in 10 minutes. Air conditioning, wifi and shower all worked well. Breakfast was included. Good value for Lindau. I would stay again.
Elias, his mother, the young Lady at the reception desk, very polite and very helpful. Delicious and rich breakfast. The room was what I was looking for in LINDAU and more. Excellent location, very close to the train station ( LINDAU INSEL ), that was what interested me the most.
The staff at the hotel were so kind and hospitable. The room was super comfy and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. The location was perfect, easy to find and it was easy to walk everywhere in Lindau. I would highly recommend staying here. It was a wonderful experience!
The Brugger family is always extremely friendly and helpful. I have been a patron of this lovely hotel for years when traveling to the Lindau Insel area. The kindness, personality and hospitality is always superb.
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was brilliant for exploring Lindau and the Bodensee. The apartment was spacious, well kitted out and very comfortable. The hosts also made sure we were looked after well.
The beer garden was lovely, the room was spacious and the staff was kind and helpful. Lindau is a place that everyone must visit, especially if you love cycling.
