The Japanese-style rooms at Historical Ryokan Hostel K's House Ito Onsen are air-conditioned and come with traditional tatami-mat flooring. Most rooms enjoy beautiful views of the Matsukawa River. This place is such a gem! The atmosphere is surreal, the place very clean and the staff super nice and helpful. We chose the double room with private veranda on the river and we were so happy! We also got to try their private onsen, as well as one of the outdoor onsen they suggest, and were amazed by the experience. The hotel was i a perfect location to reach any place of interest in Ito.

Situated 1.5 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in Takayama, boasting a garden, a shared lounge and private parking. It is located 2 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village and features luggage storage space. The ryokan has parking on-site, a hot spring bath and full-day security. Our stay at Iroriyado Hidaya was one of the highlights of our 2-week trip. The hospitality was exceptional, probably the best we've ever experienced even in comparison to other more expensive ryokans. Staff were extremely kind and helpful; we had our own itinerary planned out, but we've seen how they assisted other foreign guests with recommendations to visit around Takayama. We had a Japanese speaker in our group, but the language barrier should not be much of an issue as they use a translation device with international guests. Location is quite a bit of a walk from the station, though we felt that it was worth it and they were extremely willing to help with taxi reservations for the next and subsequent mornings. Very highly recommended to stay here :)

The welcome seating and drink while staff helped us check in was so pleasant, our own personal staff to show us to our room, the beautiful room with all the little details or amenities, our own traditional Yakuta to wear to meals, the private onsen and peaceful nature of the ocean view. Everything was amazing!!

Set 9.1 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Yumeguri no Yado Yoshiharu offers 5-star accommodation in Izunokuni and has a garden. Ideally located in the Izu Nagaoka Onsen district, this ryokan provides a terrace, as well as a hot tub. The ryokan offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. The staff was very attentive and friendly, food was top class.

Facing the seafront, Izu Hokkawa Seaside Guesthouse 伊豆北川の家 is a ryokan providing a 2-star accommodation in Higashiizu. It features a private beach area, garden and private parking. If you would rather not eat out, you can make use of the kitchen facilities. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Its a good location for a quiet, relaxing holiday in a small town. We stayed over the weekend, its easy to take the train to other towns (although it doesnt go that frequently). The nearby Hokkawa onsen (Kurone iwaburo) has to be one of our favorite onsens we have visited, with the bath facing out to the sea, really recommend a visit!! The owner of the guesthous is very sweet and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. Will definitely come back!

A wonderful experience: the view from the camera and the onsen seems to a paint; the room service was accurate, detailed and awesome.The nicest staff I've ever seen (we annoyed the staff with a lot of requests and they satisfied all of them). I think is one of the best place not only for starting or ending the Nakasendo way but also just for resting your body and mind.
