Grandhotel Praha is located Tatranska Lomnica, at the foot of Lomnicky Peak, right in the heart of High Tatras and only 900 metres from the nearest ski lift. The wellness is just marvelous, one of my fav ever. I like that they have a separate, quite resting room with beds & blankets & candle lights, so you can easily take a spiritual inside journey after sauna & cold plunge. The steam bath has a unique citric smell that gets you cleaned up from toe to the top. The sight from the outside jacuzzi pool is just jaw dropping. They serve free refreshing drinks, water and orange flavored water as well. Rooms are nice and clean, the restaurant & the salon looks like you'd have been in a beautifully designed castle in the 18th century. Liked to stay here very much, will definitely come back again.

The hotel has a classical design and everything from the bedroom to the restaurant or the service were perfect. Our Kids really enjoyed the place and specially the indoor swiming pool.

Located in Belianske Tatry region and right next to the Strachan Ski Centre, Wellness Penzion Strachan offers a wellness centre, a restaurant and various entertainment activities. Place you would come back to. This is an amazing place to stay. You get everything you need and want. Spacious room with balcony and view. The bathroom is big, especially shower. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful(I'm sure they were happy to see me going because my demanding behaviour was out of control). The hotel is just 3 minutes away by car from the ski resort, or you can use one right next hotel, so it's a perfect location. It was the best breakfast I ever had in a hotel. Plenty of choices and glass of prosecco was appreciated, too. There is no kettle in the room, but you don't need one. I did use a spa at the hotel. It was very helpful after skiing, just relax(have to be booked in front). Another great thing is that you can leave your ski gear in a special room, where your ski and ski boots dry.

Alpinismo negli Alti Tatra
Il paese è tranquillo, è una buona base di partenza per le escursioni sugli Alti tatra sia in inverno a piedi o con gli sci sia immagino d'estate. Varebbe la pena di visitare i rifugi in quota molto ben serviti e raggiungibili attraverso sentieri ben segnati, immersi in una natura selvaggia, molto severa.

E' un bel lago adatto a escursioni anche in barca a remi. Da qui è facile raggiungere alcune località degli Alti Tatra. La cittadina è raggiungibile in auto, ma i parcheggi in agosto sono sempre strapieni e molto cari tutti a pagamento. I ristoranti chiudono alle 19, noi per i tre giorni di permanenza a Štrbské Pleso, abbiamo sempre dovuto scendere per circa 10 km a mangiare alla Koliba Zerucha perché aperta fino alle 22! Tra l'altro ottima cucina e bel locale anche se il personale non è molto cortese e sorridente.
