Special mention to receptionist Anna who made us fish and chips for dinner and gave us many recommendations to explore the Snæfellsnes Penisula. She even helped us to find the northern lights at night!

Owned by people who grew up in the very valley in which it is nestled, the care in everything they do can be felt. The location is a bit remote but so beautiful and well worth the short drive. The architecture of the restaurant is magnificent allowing fantastic views for dinner and breakfast--and the food was some of the best we had in Iceland. The main concierge/clerk/waiter is a treasure. Knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again.

We spent the day going up to Reykholt and Husafell, then stayed at Hotel Varmaland before heading to Snaefellsness Peninsula the next day. It was a beautiful hotel; the views from the dining area were fabulous. Food was excellent.
