The staff has been very kind and helpful to more than our expectations. The location is quiet and relaxing. Just the restaurant cooking must be improved as it is slightly dull in tastes.

A spacious room with great view of Mývatn. The staff was super helpful and sweet. Great breakfast with fresh made pancake and various options. Perfect location to go nature geothermal spa and all the nature view spots around Mývatn. Fair price great value. Highly recommended. Definitely revisit it again.

Dinner was absolutely phenomenal! Everyone was so kind and caring and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. Would return to Iceland just to stay here again!

This family owned hotel is located at 3,8 kms away from Godafoss waterfall, and offers modern guest rooms with private bathroom. Free private parking is available. If your main goal to see the northern lights, this is the best place you can imagine. The sky is dark, no sources of light pollution around, mountains aside are not tall, so you see the sky from left to right without obstacles. We had chance to see beautiful northern lights, and it was awesome. Just use one of two large spaces on the road that lead to the hotel, there are the darkest spots for observing. Hotel is very clean and soundproof. Good breakfast.

Great atmosphere, perfect starting spot for visiting north Iceland. Its great to grab a beer in Akureyri backpackers on a main street, super good italian restaurnt just outside town center. No effort to provide that little extra, like drinks and water, and hot water outside of breakfast time. Breakfast is only from 8-10am, a little late for those who want an early start. Poor,breakfast, no eggs or any hot food. I saw some guests who arrived having to call for service and wait quite awhile for their rooms as they hadn't recieved the email for self check-in instructions. I am glad we only stayed one night to break our journey to North Iceland. I would avoid this place if possible.

The city wasn't the issue. But for those who have a car and want to travel to north Iceland,it's a great location for a star trip. All the best places are around, Godafoss, Detifoss, myvaten and more. Beautiful Iceland!!❤ Iceland is beautiful but very expensive so it's better to have a room with kitchen and cook for yourself. With a car it's very easy to reach out and explore the area. The best activities are just being in the nature!

Akureyri was a convenient, central base for seeing the wonderful sights of North Iceland, and is in a beautiful setting. Whether driving oneself, or using public transport, everything was achievable. The Hof Tourism office was very helpful, as was everyone we met. Even the bus driver going to Husavik went over and above what anyone would expect, in order to help us. The Whale Museum there is superb. In Siglufjodor, Herring Museum staff were amazing, opening up just for us, and leaving us to enjoy the three separate museum buildings without any supervision. We very much hope to return one day.

a well run, truly lovely boutique hotel in a small village in North Iceland that was once a major herring fishing and canning center. There is an elegant restaurant in the hotel, as well as a beautiful bar, a nice big hot tub area, and inviting lounge. the room was simple and small but extremely comfortable with beautiful linens, pillows, and great shower. we were very happy to spend 4 nights here.

This was a very nice place to stay for two nights during a trip to north Iceland. Food was good, lovely sitting room/dining area with great views. We sat in the lounge and played game after dinner - very comfortable. Nicely decorated and nicely maintained. We did not make use of the swimming pool next door but it looked nice.

I was able to walk the 4 km from airport. Located right b the church. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and very good value. The staff were fantastic. I got snowed in when my plane was cancelled. Great to stay another night.
