Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. We got to this hotel around 21h and we were amazed by how big was our room and toilet! Is so praceful and THE Staff are just family! Is really lovely. Then we woke up to a beautiful landscape witht the tiver and the Mountains, on top of that a home made breakfast with warm bread and cake! You cant avoid but wake up Happy and have a great start of your day!

Located by the harbour in Höfn, this property is surrounded by Hornafjördur’s outdoor activity possibilities. Guests can enjoy mountaineering, snowmobile glacier trips and ice climbing in the area. Nice modern hotel for a good price, a rarity in Iceland! We've paid more for hostels with a shared bathroom. Here we had a clean room with private bathroom, complementary coffee and tea, and a great view to top it off :-) Definitely try the Pakhús restaurant nearby: great langoustines and lamb! We walked toward the minigolf at midnight to see the northern lights and had a great night's sleep afterwards.

Boasting panoramic views towards the famous Vatnajökull glacier and the surrounding mountains, Árnanes Country Hotel offers free Wi-Fi. The harbour town of Höfn is only 6 km away. The room was today and clean. Location was just outside of the main town to easy to travel in for food etc. Breakfast was really nice, plenty of choice and lots of homemade / local items. The staff were very friendly and informative as we were stuck in a storm due to road closures.

Situated next to Iceland’s Ring Road, this family-run farm hotel offers brightly decorated rooms with a TV and a private bathroom. The Hoffell Hot Springs are 25 km away. The hotel is family owned and very pleasant. We really enjoyed the local flavor for breakfast. There was a nice variety with veggies, eggs, and homemade goodies - bread, pastries, and jam. They offered fish and meats too. Free coffee and tea all day! We had vegan burgers for dinner that were very filling and tasty. We found the room to be spacious and very clean. There was only soap available in the room. The staff was great, so nice and responsive before arriving. There was a cute gift shop too. I liked all the animals on display. Fantastic location to visit Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon, it's only 25 minutes and worth the drive especially for the value.

Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. Very nice hotel close to the ring road. The host is really nice，helped us cleaning the car window after the snowstorm！And there is a piano in the common area. Also great view from the room’s window.

The amazing location of Hotel Skaftafell provides guests with stunning views of Iceland's highest mountain, Hvannadalshnjukur and the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull. We could register to be woken if the northern lights appeared and they allowed us to have breakfast early . Dinner was delicious

Just 5 minutes’ drive from Höfn in south-east Iceland, this hotel is found along Route 1, close to the country’s largest glacier Vatnajökull. This is the BEST hotel we stayed at during our 10 day road trip. The customer service is exceptional. We arrived after midnight and there was a sign stuck on the door for us to call to have the door opened for us. The gentleman who greeted us at this late hour was truly exceptional . He assisted us in every way he could to try to help us settle in easily and comfortably. The breakfast is of the highest standard. lots of delicious options to choose from. The rooms were spotless and the bed was comfy. After checking out we returned to the hotel for a quick stop as it was along our route and the young lady at the front desk was amazing yet again, getting us hot water for our coffee cups and allowing us the use of the restrooms. This is truly a beautiful hotel with great staff and facilities. Wish i had checked in to this hotel earlier to be able to enjoy the clean facilities a bit more.

Berjaya Hérað Hotel is situated in Egilsstadir, 5 km from Lagarfljot River. It offers a terrace bar and 24-hour room service. All rooms have Wi-Fi, satellite TV and wooden floors. Lovely hotel for when you are driving round Iceland. Staff are exceptional from reception to barman to restaurant staff. Friendly, open warm and generous. Staff really make a property and the staff here were no exception. Worth staying if you need a clean well appointed good value for money stay
