Taichung is kinda my hometown, the weather is nicer than Taipei and Kaoxiong. Life expense is a little cheaper than Taipei. It's easy to get to parks, shopping malls, very convenient for travelers to walk around either by buses or on foot.

Taichung has many great cultural places, entertainment and food is top notch as well!
Only down side is the that traveling around taichung is not so public transport friendly as it's so huge!
I did not get to go to quite a few other places with the days i spent there, will head back to continue exploring again!

I teach English to Taiwanese adults and was fortunate to have two of my students (on different days) take me to places they wanted to show me. I think there are many interesting places to visit in Taichung.
Since I was in a car with locals, I can't really say what the public transport is like, but from my view, it seemed like there are buses and metro trains everywhere.

The National Theatre is an amazing building to see, look for the "nose", the "eye" and the "ear", as well as the facial profiles in the butterfly pictures on the walls on 1/F.

Its a city in transition i want to visit it in 5 years or so again to see where it's at. But probably won't stop here again till then, nothing any other city doesn't offer.
WIth that said..... great place to do a day trip for specific things...
If you have 2 days to spare visit and plan your day so you won't waste time. Restaurants open late, they definitely move at a different speed with many places closed Wed.
If you are vegetarian or vegan great places to eat here. Do Uber eat my Taiwanese friend used it all the time.
Great Museum and right next to the museum don't forget to eat at the restaurant the home of where boba tea was created. If you're into boba its a must-go!

Taichung is a less westernized city than Taipei.
Taichung is a less westernized city than Taipei. What I like is the stimulation brought by different cultures, rather than the standard plagiarism and imitation. I don’t think other cities are better than Taichung.
It’s the third time we stayed at Cloud Hotel :) The room was really spacious and clean, had a nice view and was luminous, the bathroom had a tub and a faucet to drink filtered water:) Also had a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee. The staff was really kind. The breakfast was a buffet and there are LOTS of options. They have complimentary snacks at the lobby to eat during the day and a variety of drinks too. If we go back to Taichung we will stay there again!
Location is excellent just a stone's throw from Taichung Railway station where there is a plethora of eateries. The hotel has a common balcony on the 7th floor (which is almost level with the station platform) where one can sit and sip a beer while watching trains come and go. My own room whilst not on the station side had a very pleasant balcony which was once again a great place to sit and relax. The hotel signs can be seen from the station.
We live in Taichung and have watch from the start of the development of this property. The opening was impacted by Covid and delayed for a few years. I am glad that the Marriott group stayed the course. The hotel is in a part of the city that is going through the process of Urban renewal. The hotel is a statement to the commitment of city of Taichung. I do hope they survive and become more in tune with value of their property.
Innk is the PERFECT location to be right next to the market, close to transportation, and in a quiet area. The hotel itself was nice and had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again if I were to go back to Taichung.. and it's all for a great price! The hotel also offered a living room common area that was decorated nicely and included an espresso machine, a TV, snacks, and so much more!
I keep on coming back to this hotel everytime I come to Taichung because I admire their services, the Staffs are courteous, approachable, they are able to communicate in English and they are kind enough to ask if you need help, like for example if you need a taxi, they will assist you.The waiting area is spacious and comfortable to stay. The rooms are clean too.
Loved our stay here :)
The staffs are so great, helpful and friendly.
The location is good and pretty close to Taichung train station.
The room is spacious, modern and the bed was very comfortable.
The washroom is also so spacious and clean, modern and everything you would want in a hotel bathroom!
Would definitely want to stay here again!
My recent stay at a hotel in Taichung was nothing short of exceptional. The immaculate cleanliness, attentive staff, and stylish decor created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The central location allowed for easy exploration of the city's vibrant attractions, making it the perfect choice for a memorable and comfortable stay in Taichung.
The hotel is beautiful and very clean. It has a boutique feel without the boutique price. The bed was comfortable. It was quiet, but near some big attractions like City Hall and the mall. It’s not super close to the main downtown area but it was still walkable for me. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel situated in front of the train station, making it very convenient to going places. There are plenty of motorbike rental around the area if you need one to visit Taichung and surrounding area. The hotel itself is basic but sufficient for a short stay. Staffs are polite and very helpful
The location of the hotel is outstanding, just a 5-min walk from Taichung Railway Station.
The staff are all friendly and willing to let us put our luggage in the lobby before we check in and after we check out.
The breakfast is tasty and have a great variety of choices.
Cute decors in the hotel - each floor has it's own theme (which continues in the room). There is also a roof top balcony where you can star gaze at night and a view of Taichung. The hotel provides free drinks throughout the entire day, including after midnight!
The location really nice, behind got KFC / 7-11, also really nearby taichung station, walk around 5 mins can reach.
The most important is the bus station just behind the hotel, this is really easy for free traveller.
Its service is the top in Taichung. They provide Taiwan pineapple cake at the room as welcoming guests.
Their own grain bread for breakfast is delicious. Those guests in Taichung should stay one night at this hotel.
Good location ! Taichung station by exit D. Room was clean and bed comfy. Hotel has 2 each washing machine/ dryer at basement cost NT20. With a mini playground/slide too.
Great location with spacious rooms and modern facilities. The manager was very friendly, provided great recommendations and was very accommodating with our requests.
A last minute booking as I found myself in Taichung quite late. Took a chance as hotel looked good and was heavily discounted for that night. Made the right choice
Room was super clean!
Common area in level 12 has good snacks, tea and coffee. The view was the best part as the hotel is in front of Taichung station.
