check-in was very easy and the staff were extremely nice and helpful. They were also very responsive with questions I had before our arrival. the location is the best in the area, you are not situated in the main town but a short distance away. This means you are not trampled by the cruise ship passenger descending on the main town. we made dinner each night and had it on our balcony overlooking the fjord. We also rented a small boat at reception which went very smoothly. The other campers were all very considerate and nice. The cabin had all the amenities you would require and was a lovely place to stay in.

As the end of the Geiranger Fjord, the village is constantly under a constant flow of tourists coming with the huge cruise ships. The village per se has nothing else special versus other Norwegian villages on any other fjord, but this constant movement of people from the ships gives it the opportunity to be super busy and even more expensive than the normal expensive Norway.ralu khaBelgium - 10Scored 10

It is probably one of the nicest areas of Norway, and the Geiranger Fjords should be visited by everyone when in Norway. Despite the distances involved, visitors should get out and about, driving cars there requires some skill and attention, but the roads are well maintained. (Watch out for hikers and bikers!). Geiranger is one of the most attractive destinations in the world , the nature itself is a reward and what i suggest is that the concerned authorities can add more services here and there to meet the needs and the expectations of all tourists from all over the world , like more supermarkets , more shopping options etc

Nice little village but very touristy when cruise liners are in. Limited choice of restaurants. Lots of tourist goods shops, boat trips available along with kayaking etc. A nice place to chill for a couple of days.

The cabin was well equipped with microwave, oven and kettle. The place is clean and the bathroom was very spacious. The space was just nice, compact but not too small. There was also laundry in the bathroom and dryer close by. This was a real plus as I was travelling around Norway for over 25 days. The location was 5 mins from town and the road to and from town was very easy. Great location with beach view

So many natural beauty places to see around here, and hikes to do. I would recommend hiring a boat for fjord exploration at your own pace. Taking a short drive to the Dalsnibba viewpoint is a must, as well as to any of the other close-by viewpoints. Walk the steps next to the powerful display of water flowing into the fjord. Take a canoe/kayak and see the many waterfalls from up close.SrdanZUnited States

We particularly loved the comfortable seats facing the large window with views of the fjord. This was an amazing, small camp site in a beautiful location. I’ll never get over the views. It’s a short drive or 35 minute walk to the lovely small touristy town of Geiranger where you’ll find a small supermarket. There are numerous walks and hikes nearby and there’s also a small stones beach attached to the site if you’re brave enough to get in the icy cold fjord water.SharonIreland

The boat to a great hike we were recommended to walk goes from this camping, and the owner who also drives is really nice. The end of the hike path is right at the camping, so we also did not have to walk the 4km in to Geiranger that others had to do. Nice ans cosy cabin. Maybe the hotel is a little old but it doesn’t matter. The staff is very nice and polite. We brought our own food for dinner and the receptionist suggested us to use the dining area. Yes, there is no wifi and no cell phone signal but who cares! This is an opportunity to enjoy the great natural surroundings with peaceful and quiet time.

Our cabin had beautiful views across the water, including several waterfalls. Because you are not right in Geiranger, you can avoid the crush of visitors when a cruise ship docks. The cabins are basic but functional, including microwave and clothes drying rack. What can I say about the fjord… beautiful beyond compare… We drove up the Trollstigen when we left and the views are truly breathtaking.

The hotel is about 1.5km from the village of Geiranger, but it is an easy walk and it was nice to be away from all the tourists and cruise ships. When you need a transfer, the hotel is very accommodating. The room was clean and there were some lovely facilities- Jacuzzis, small gym, coffee/tea making areas, laundry for guests to use. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
