Very pleasant and helpful front desk. We were able to leave our car out front while we got settled in our room. Room very comfortable and lots of counter space in the bathroom. Groningen is beautiful, we were lucky to have visited when the fairground was in town which kept the teenager children entertained. We also visited a few climbing centres while here. Staff at the cafes, pubs and restaurants were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely visit again.

Groningen can seriously surprise you with it's beauty if you visit in right weather which will enable you to explore all it has to offer. We found our timing just right during our visit of mid/end May. It has a very joyous vibe, well planned infrastructure, multicultural cuisine, easy local conveyance, great connectivity with Amsterdam. Students from various walks of the world makes it even more vibrant and energietic. The unique 'forum' building, University of Groningen and it's widely spread out yet classic campuses, beatiful streets, Grote market, clock tower and central garden will be remembered for a long time.

Groningen is a beautiful city , I would prefer it to Amsterdam . It is a nice size, there's loads to see and do. The Groninger Museum always has terrific exhibitions and the building itself is amazing. The Ship Museum is excellent also . There is a lovely ambience with many cosy cafes and bars and great eateries such as the Drei Gezusters. We had great takeaway food at the Vis Markt , the Kibbeling is very tasty and the portions everywhere are generous. As it is a University city , there is a lively student atmosphere, We walked everywhere as everything is accessible. It is a wonderful spot for a city break.

We liked this time a lot because of the boat tour through the town and our visit to Groninger museum with the Rolling Stones exhibition. We had diner at the Branderij and at Eetcafe de Slingerij. Both good quality for a fine price and kind staff.

Groningen is a lovely univeristy town easily reached by train. Taking a walk through the center to visit the almshouses (there is a good guidebook for that) and their gardens was a pleasant way to get to know the city. A big plus is that there is no mass tourism as in Amsterdam, mostly day trippers from the area or just across the river from Germany.

The one-bedroom apartment on the first floor was lovely - really comfortable with high quality furnishings, excellent shower and good kitchen area. The bed was really comfortable and the apartment had everything we needed for a one-week stay in Groningen.. It was 5 minutes' walk from the railway station and a couple of minutes' walk in to the city centre. Groningen is a fantastic city with lots of great museums, restaurants and things to see - and for running fans, a Parkrun!

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, the shower worked well and housekeeping cleaned the room on every day of the stay. The girl that helped me check in was very nice and was helpful with my special request for the check out. There were bus stations only a few minutes away from the location, as well as a supermarket that was open till 22. The city center was also at a convenient walking distance from the hotel. The area felt safe and was very quiet as well.

This guest-house is located in the middle of the city centre of Groningen. This accommodation is adequate, although everything is really worn and in serious need of refurbishing and maintenance. However, if you're not looking for luxury, then the price/value and the location are excellent. The host is very friendly! This was the 2nd time we stayed here during TT-Assen MotoGP, as the racetrack is about 20-25 minutes ride away.

Breakfast was standard fare, Continental choices, cooked options etc and fine for a buffet style, but on the pricy side. Hotels in Groningen are never 'cheap' so relatively good value for the city, well/conveniently located for the centre but parking expensive.
