Breakfast was great with a good variety of choice including eggs cooked to order. Location was great and the room was a good size. The late check out time was very helpful as it meant we could visit Hengifoss in the morning, when the sun is in the best position, knowing we could come back to our room to freshen up.

We are group of family (6 people) and booked 2 triple rooms which they managed the room to be closed as requested. The triple rooms have 2 levels (2 beds on the first floor and the other one on the second floor) which is really lovely. There are big windows to see the view which is different between first and second floor. The view from the room is beautiful. There are a lot of parking lot available, and we can temporarily park near the building to bring our luggages down first. The checkin and checkout process is easy.

The horsefarm is literally located in the middle of nowhere and it’s an amazing experience driving through the herd of horses which are super curious and nice. The house is well-equipped and the host is super helpful and friendly. When we were there, there were only ours and one more room taken and we had plenty of space, I’m not sure what it’s like when all the rooms are occupied, but for us it was perfect.
Finnstaðir has barbecue facilities and a garden. A hot tub is available for guests. Free WiFi is offered. All units at the guest house are equipped with a seating area and a TV.

This was a great stopping point after driving the eastern Fjords on a Sunday. They had a couple places that were open where we could eat, get gas and groceries. This town was a nice place to stay after driving through many of the lovely villages along the coast and before heading to Husavik. You're also close to Hengifoss and not far from Studlagil Canyon, though we only drove halfway down the road before we gt nervous with the icy road right on the side of a cliff.

We loved the tourist info center there along the lake with the Gunnar Gunnerson museum and restaurant. We had a great buffet meal there. We enjoyed the tourist rest area because the lady there spent time with us as we looked around at the exhibits. It was an unexpected surprise.

Good hotel overall.
Good hotel overall.
Locally, we went to Vik Baths, very good experience.
On our 10 day driving the Ring Road, we had already visited the Blue Lagoon. Vik Baths was an alternative to the Blue Lagoon, well worth visiting.

Practical location. A lot of to explore around the town.
Practical location. A lot of to explore around the town. We were on a short travel and the weather was fine, so we didn't use a lot of services there. We are planning an other travel there because there are so much to do 😀
The house is right outside the town of Egilsstadir, very easy to find.
We were met by a very friendly owner and his two lovely dogs. He was extremely helpful and the house was truly a gem!
Decorated with old-style furniture, but very cosy, clean and it has a hot tub outside with an amazing view! We wish we could have stayed longer and can definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to spend time at East Iceland!
Where to begin...the bar tenders in the attached bar were friendly and helpfully turned us on to the homemade pizza for dinner; the room was small but perfect; breakfast oh boy! The spread of food was astonishing, from the delicious pastries, bread and toasts to the splendid meats, cheeses, herrings, fresh fruits, cereals - the choices kept us coming back for refills. This hotel surpassed all imagination!
Nice bar, unfortunately the waiter doesn’t know what he sells. But he was really kind and nice. He did great effort. Waffle at breakfast. Nice choice at breakfast, fresh fruits, coffee machine. Parking in front of the door. Hotel easy to find. Nice view from the room.
We liked our room and found it comfy and spacious enough. The hotel is very clean and has a nice lobby with lots of space. The front desk staff/concierge was especially friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great stay and I would stay here again.
Staff was very friendly, there was confusion between the hostel and hotel regarding the booking. At the end of the day still got what was listed on the site. The woman behind the front desk quickly fixed the issue and was very apologetic.
Very nice, comfortable hotel. The shower was fairly roomy (by Iceland standards), but my wife was uncomfortable in the shower because the floor tiles were a bit slippery.
Breakfast was good, a wide array of selections to choose from.
Good location to visit the eastern part. The hotelroom was okay and the toilet and showers in the hallway were clean. It was nice that we could use the communal spaces and there was free coffee and tea. Breakfast was really nice!
Nice hotel located conveniently for a stop in the eastern part of the ring road. Nice rooms and very friendly staff. The use of the hot tubs was included, though we sadly did not have time for that.
The room was very clean, it had a private bath, and a garden view. The hotel was quiet. There is a shared very well equipped kitchen with two refrigerators and dining area for about 10-15 people.
The staff was so helpful and friendly. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. It was very quiet and relaxing. The amenities at the main hotel were excellent. There are even some hot tubs.
Standard and simple hotel with amenities you would expect. Breakfast was expansive and good. In future I would choose something more "local" and not a large-size hotel chain.
Hotel staff were very nice and answered a few questions about the area. We were shown to our room quickly within arriving and everything was very clean and orderly.
Nice private mini-house with great views and a kitchen to cook your own meals. Also has a fridge which seems to be fairly rare in Iceland hotels/accommodation.
