Customer service was above and beyond - from checking me in, helping me with the luggage the airlines lost, to arranging transportation to my next destination. The room was beautiful and clean, and breakfast was delicious. There was pool, but I wasn't there long enough to enjoy it. It looked inviting, as did the bar area.

Exceptional staff, exceptional location, superb food. Members of the hotel staff run any extra mile for making your stay as pleasant as possible. From breakfast to the last minute in the evening. They try to support you in any case even with a minor issue. As a result, hotel staff takes your overall experience to another level. Location is nicely isolated and the view from the location is picturesque. If a guest intends to visit Oia, Fira or other locations, a rental car is a must for Akrotiri.

The staff here are exceptional. i had a broken ankle when i visited and the staff helped by putting me in a room without steps and organised for me to take taxis and pay at the end of my stay. The food is fantastic quality and served in your room. We had the floating breakfast too. The breakfast is huge and of exceptional quality. The drinks are fairly priced and menu varied and interesting The room was very large with a fantastic bed and linen. it was spotlessly clean. the pool was amazing and the view incredible . This is a place you will remember. I loved the location as its away from the crowds but there is nothing close by that is walkable so hire a car or take taxis .

The local area is good for restaurants, vineyards, activities like boat trips and horse riding. There are some interesting historical sites (castle and bronze age settlement) close by. I really wish we could have stayed for longer than a week to see more of the locality. The bus can be a bit hit and miss, but a really cheap way to access the north of the island, Fira and Oia.

Beautiful area. Wonderful restaurants in the village. Loved the Venetian castle which has coffee and food. You must visit the ancient city. The locals over all were very friendly and helpful. Please note-there are a lot of homeless animals. Be prepared for it.

Akrotiri is a small place in the southern part of the island...
Akrotiri is a small place in the southern part of the island of Santorini, from which one can see the caldera and also experience beautiful sunsets. There is a small supermarket and a clothing store as well as restaurants and an art shop there. Also important are the Akrotiri Castle and the proximity to the Red Beach and the archaeological site, which can be reached on foot. There are also horses nearby that you can ride to the beach. Megalochori, a small beautiful village nearby, can be reached by bus to Fira. An ideal place to enjoy the sun in the south and to do tours of the island from there.

This area of Santorini was just perfect for us.
This area of Santorini was just perfect for us. Memorable views, from the caldera to the sunset, Oia & Fira in the distance.
The archeological site and the Lost Atlantis museum are very close for a jump into myth and real history of the island. The best beaches for snorkling are in this southern coast, between Vlichada and the Lighthouse. Many family run restaurants, super markets and amenities are at reach. And the Horst Riding experience with a wild gallop on the eros beacj is roght there .. strongly recommended.

I liked the fact it was close to facilities which l forgot to mention before! Supermarket, restaurants, (loved Porto Bello restaurant), cafes & chemist etc! Also car hire available! All short walk away!
Enjoyed a trip to the ancient archeological site & the museum of The Lost City of Atlantis! Also Red beach & Caldera! Lovely catamaran boat cruise round island with bbq & wine although l ghoughg bit pricey.
We were greeted by George at the property and made to feel very welcome. He provided us with advise on things to do and assisted us with bookings. It made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The accommodation was a great base to explore the island and was away from the busy tourist areas and very peaceful and quite. The best beaches on the island are nearby and easy to reach. We enjoyed our walks into Akrotiri which has shops and restaurants. Everyone talks about the sunsets in Santorini but the sunrise from the apartment is unbeatable.
This was my 6th time visiting Santorini. I was traveling with my family. We loved the rooms, the location( we aren’t into touristy areas), the pool, restaurant and delicious breakfast! If you rent a car, you have access to the island since it’s small. Kostas is very knowledgeable! He helped us
with our travel to Athens and Turkey. I miss Hotel Mathios and wish I was back! Thank you
Kostas, we will be back! My daughter cried the night before we left! She wanted to stay!
This is the best place to choose if you stay Santorini.
Fantastic host! very kind, help in everything. We
could use shower and wait for a few hours in the hotel before our flight.
Amazing view at the roof of the building combined with delicious food (breakfast and dinner) have made it an unforgettable experience! High value for a good price!!! Beautiful and clean room with
comfortable bed. Great location - easy to get there from the overcrowded and loud Fira by bus.
Everything was great at this hotel.. amazing staff that is friendly and makes customers feel welcome. Despite the fact that we went there in the off season period, we really enjoyed it. Nice breakfast, and pool area. We enjoyed also small snacks around the pool that were delicious. Location seems to be a bit isolated, but it is really near the Lighthouse, that is one of the places you should visit while you are in Santorini.
Delightful- I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The hotel staff are like a family and they welcome you in with open arms. they go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable, including transfers around the island, incredible breakfasts and good conversation. the views are astounding. I really enjoyed staying away from the touristy areas on Santorini. the hotel and local area are peaceful and tranquil.
Akrotiri Hotel was a lovely place to spend a few days in Santorini. The room was in a beautiful location - right by the beach. The bus stop which takes you to Fira is right outside. The host went above and beyond offering to take us to the airport when our transfer did not turn up. The morning breakfast was delicious. We loved our time here and highly recommend it!
We had an amazing time at this property. The staff was amazing, caring, and provided some great recommendations. I have stayed at multiple hotels all over the world and this one of my favorite ones! The Greek breakfast was amazing, but the staff made this place even more special. If you are coming to Santorini do not hesitate when booking this place.
10 stars are not enough for this place. Exceptionally clean, and jacuzzi as well perfect clean. Size of room for couple is great.
Spiros the owner is very friendly and helpful, and helped us with things to do in Santorini.
Akrotiri village is great.
The place is very quite and the view is astonishing. We will definitely go back...
Perfect place to stay away from the crowds of Santorini town. Bus stopped right outside the hotel so very convenient. A few restaurants up the road we’re very convenient. Good breakfast. Room was small but we weren’t in it much. We looked out over the pool. Little bar and cafe in the pool area. The owner was very helpful.
I spent 5 days in Hotel Mathios with my daughter. Great location - -a good base for our Santorini stay(we had a rental car tough).Very clean room, nice pool, breakfast outside at the pool was so cool! And I have to mention Kostas, the manager ofthe hotel, he would do absolutely anything to make his guests happy!
Nice hotel away from the busy places in Santorini.
Staff was really nice, I had a strong back pain and they brought all the pillows I needed. The restaurant has a great menu with good quality of food.
The bus station is one minute by walk from the property.
Loved the pool area!!
The location was amazing, Akrotiri is the most peaceful side of Santorini. The hospitality of the staff were great, they recommended things around town, helped us order an ATV. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Everything was perfect.
Everything. It was away from the heart of Santorini, so quiet and lovely. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing!! Martha (receptionist and help guru!) was the gem of them all!!
The room was beautiful, clean, and very specious.
Please bear in mind that this hotel is very far from Santorini's main villages such as Oia and Fira. Each taxi was around €35 - €45.
The stuff was amazing! They treated us really good. Everybody was super polite. If you ever go to Santorini, do not hesitate to book a room at Goulielmos Hotel. You will not regret!
