Located on Snæfellsnes peninsula, this hotel offers an in-house restaurant and rooms with mountain views and free WiFi access. Stykkishólmur town centre is a 25-minute drive away. I decided to book this place because there is out of town and finally saw the aurora just open the room door!

The cute traditional-yet newly renovated and very comfortable hotel is located in the beautiful old port. People working there were super nice and provided us with great recommendations. The place was very peaceful, the person we meet on check in was warm and welcoming and very helpful with regard to booking somewhere to eat that night. he had a tremendous sense of humour. Breakfast was perfect the following morning with plenty of choice

The room was very spacious and felt like being at home a nice way to properly relax on holidays, the beds were comfortable and the facilities especially kitchen were great. We had a good view of the mountain from our room and the communal balcony. Location is great if you want to photograph the area, we were chasing the northern lights and could quickly pop in and out as the weather changed.

Situated by the sea in the fishing village of Stykkisholmur, Hotel Stykkisholmur offers free Wi-Fi and brightly decorated rooms with a TV. Stykkisholms Golf Club is 100 metres away. We stayed in a suite, there was a private living and dinning room with a half bath and the bed room with a full bathroom off of it. There was a huge jacuzzi (4 people at least) and one of the largest showers I was ever in. The lighting is all adjustable (dimmable). The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good.
